innovative multimedia journalist

hi! glad you're here.
I'm a writer, photographer, and passionate storyteller from Atlanta, currently living in Birmingham, Alabama.

From my tiniest days, I've been endlessly curious, and that usually channeled itself into creating something. I read voraciously, wrote till I ran out of paper and took pictures of everything I saw.

More importantly, I felt connected to people -- their stories and their experiences gripped me.

By the time I got to college, I knew I wanted to create and was passionate about the government. In December 0f 2021, I graduated with a degree in Journalism and a minor in Political Science.

Today, I'm a statehouse reporter with a focus on gender and politics at AL.com and the Alabama Media Group as a Report for America Corps Member. Since coming to Alabama, I've covered the overturning of Roe v. Wade, Alabama's first all-female gubernatorial election, inclusive policies for students in the LGBTQ+ community on college campuses, wage equity and state politics.
You can also find my previous bylines and photos in the Associated Press, U.S. News & World Report, Georgia Public Broadcasting, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and various papers across the United States along with posts at my former outlet, Fresh Take Georgia.

I strive to produce insightful and investigative stories through the lens of solutions journalism. I've found that giving the floor to the muted voices is what I'm most passionate about. Sharing moments of humanity and highlighting the need for change across the state makes me leap out of bed each morning.

I believe that being a journalist is the biggest privilege in the world and it's one I don't take lightly. Shining a light on what's true and getting to create while doing it is the only calling I've ever had.

I dream of illuminating stories that make a real difference, uncovering the truth, and highlighting humanity. I hope to pursue pieces that lead to real, lasting changes in communities that need them.
